You just took amazing pictures that are perfect for your website, except when you upload them onto your computer, it looks like there’s a little red eye happening on one, a few others would be better if that random person wasn’t looming on the left, and maybe one or two are kind of overexposed.
What you need are easy-to-use photo editing tools! With a few clicks you can turn an ordinary photo into something beautiful:

Don’t have Photoshop at home? Look no further! Here’s a list of my favorite free online editors to get you started:
Photoshop.com is a great resource for free online photo editing, photo organizing and style matching. After you create an account, you’ll have access to their photo editing system that gives you various options for editing your photos. Here’s just a sample of the editor screen:

You can crop, rotate, add special effects, highlight, sharpen, add text and even decorate your photos!
Advanced Online Image Editor: www.pixlr.com
Thanks to a recommendation, I was reacquainted with Pixlr. This is also a free and easy to use online editing program for your images that works right in your browser! It is available in multiple languages, connects easily with Flickr.com and Facebook.com and has an advanced list of tools and tutorials that will help you to edit your photos and keep track of your layers. Definitely a top pick!
Online free Photo Editing: www.picnik.com. With Picnik you can crop, rotate, auto-fix and take red-eye out of images.

You can also create collages, effects and add frames and stickers to your work!
www.aviary.com and www.splashup.com are casual image editors that resemble the “Photoshop” layout. These programs make it easy to edit your photos and “layer” your work while creating small graphic design projects. You can easily manage your pixels, colors and layers for more advanced editing.
www.gimp.org. Gimp is a free program that you download to your computer. It’s basically an image manipulation program that allows you to complete tasks such as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter and more. Check out a few features here.
Finally, if you want to purchase a good program for simple edits, I would definitely go with Photoshop Elements. LOVE this program! Looks like it is currently listed on sale for $59 (until January 5th)!! It’s awesome and totally worth the $ if you’re going to use a photo editor and want to do a little digital scrapbooking or make cute images to share with friends.
Be Funky is a super cool online photo editor with an extraordinary collection of “cool effects” for your photos! You can apply various effects and add a variety of artwork to your photos effortlessly.

Thanks for the list. I’ll have to check a few of them out. I have PSE 9, but I love finding sites like these to recommend to other people. Another one you could add to your list is pixlr.com/editor. It’s basically a program inside your browser.
Oh, I love it! I may have seen this one in the past, but definitely had forgotten about it. Thanks for the recommendation Amy!
