Super Cute Free Blogger Template

A few weeks ago I made the decision to build an online shop for June Lily that will include cute printables, premade logos and premade templates for Blogger and WordPress. It’s still under construction, but once it’s ready in a few weeks I think it’s going to be pretty amazing. I can’t wait to launch it.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the New Year and the New June Lily Shop coming soon, I’ve decided to make one of the Blogger templates available for FREE!

Let me introduce you to “Hello Cupcake” – I’m pretty sure this Blogger template is perfect inside and out, seriously. I’ve spent a few weeks perfecting it and am very happy with how it turned out. Just a few of the obvious features:

  • It has a seamless grunge heart background
  • Super cute cupcakes in the header
  • Heart shortcut icon for your browser (this feature is only available in a few browsers)
  • Hidden Navigation bar (Blogger Admin Bar at the top of the page)
  • Comment Numbers
  • Matching social media icons for Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and RSS
  • It has a standard (optional) menu for your pages
  • It’s fully integrated with the Template Designer so that you can change your post, footer and sidebar layout and width as much as you want, without affecting the overall design! Want a sidebar on the left or right? Easy. Want a photo blog layout instead? No problem. Done with the click of a button.
  • I’ve set up default colors, fonts and sizes, but the template is very easy to customize and you can easily change most of these features in the template designer if you would like.
  • It’s been browser checked in over 10 browsers – including the latest in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer
  • Installation takes less than 10 seconds

Before you download this template, there are a few little items to mention.

The Navigation Bar

There may be a few of you who like the top navigation bar visible… So, if you want to put the “navigation bar” back into your site, or if you are looking to remove it again, we’ve got a tutorial for that HERE.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the free blog file to your computer – unzip the folder and find the file: hellocupcake.xml (don’t open this file)
  2. Sign into your Blogger Account
  3. If you are using the “old” Blogger interface:
    1. Click on “Design” and then click on “Edit HTML”
    2. Then under “Backup and Restore” click “browse” and find the hellocupcake.xml file
    3. Click “upload”
    4. Make sure that you click “Keep Widgets” if it asks you about it
    5. Then save
  4. If you are using the “new” Blogger interface:
    1. Click on “Template”
    2. Then find  “Backup/Restore” in the top right corner and click on it
    3. Click “choose a file” and find the hellocupcake.xml file
    4. Click “upload”
    5. Then save

How to Remove the Blogger Navigation Bar

The Blogger navigation bar.

Why keep it? It helps make editing your Blogger posts a little easier and you may get a little traffic from the “next blog” link. But without it, it gives your blog a more professional look, it frees up unnecessary distraction and it adds a little more space to the top of your blog.

If you’re like me and want to remove it, that is easy to do:

  1. First sign into your Blogger account.
  2. Then click on the “Template Designer” link in the “Design” tab or if you are in the new Blogger interface, click “Customize” to access the Template Designer.
  3. Then once you’re in the Template Designer, click on the “Advanced” link in the left menu.
  4. Finally scroll down to the link that says “Add CSS” and then in that section add this code to remove your navigation bar:

#navbar-iframe {
height:0px !important;
visibility:hidden;
display:none;
}

It should look like this:

If you later decide that you miss having the navigation bar on your blog, you can simply remove this code from the HTML and the navigation bar should show up once again. In your Blogger HTML, search for “#navbar-iframe” with ctrl + f or command + f and once you find it, just delete the same code listed above.

Free Printable Holiday Gift Tags

Happy Holidays!! I can’t believe that I haven’t posted a freebie on June Lily since Easter! It’s been quite a year, but I certainly couldn’t let Christmas pass by without making another freebie for everyone.

These printables are lovingly named “Let it Snow!” since I’ve had snow on my mind quite a bit lately. Now that I live in Arizona, I really miss the snow and figured if I couldn’t have it in person, I surely could make some to enjoy.

Each little snowflake tag is 2.5 inches by 1.5 inches and this full set of 10 tags will print onto one letter size (8.5 inches by 11 inches) piece of card stock paper. Easy peasy, right?
